Kelsey is Certified Athletic Therapist in Calgary, where she graduated and got her degree in Health and Physical Education Majoring in Athletic Therapy from Mount Royal University. After graduating Kelsey was able to gain different experiences by working in a clinic in Cold Lake, then completing an internship with the Saskatchewan Roughriders. After that, she started working at the University of Calgary with several of their varsity sports teams. Kelsey went into Athletic Therapy because she had four knee surgeries and growing up in a small town she did not have the same resources as a city would and she wanted to be able to help people wherever she was. Kelsey loves working with post surgical knees and ankles, but will work with any injury as her goal is to get you back to doing what you love.
Kelsey will start off the assessment with addressing the injured area, but also looking at the body as a whole and seeing if there are any compensation patterns that are affecting the body. When you see Kelsey for a session you can expect hands on treatment that includes cupping, IASTR, trigger point release, muscle energy techniques, craniosacral techniques, stretching, exercises and education on your injury and what will help you. Kelsey is very excited to be joining the team and being able to help people across Canada with Acumen.
