Dr. LaMothe completed his PhD in Biomedical Engineering and MD at the University of Calgary, followed by his Orthopedic Surgery Residency at the University of Calgary.
He then completed two one-year fellowships in New York City at Hospital for Special Surgery and Weill Cornell Medical College. His first fellowship focused on Orthopedic Trauma Surgery, followed by a second fellowship in Complex Foot and Ankle Reconstructive Surgery.
Since 2014, Dr. LaMothe has practiced at Peter Lougheed Hospital, specializing in Orthopedic Trauma and Foot & Ankle Reconstruction.
He is actively involved in medical education at multiple levels. He serves as the Surgical Clerkship Director at the Cumming School of Medicine, the Orthopedic Residency Foot and Ankle Education Lead, and the Foot and Ankle Fellowship Director. He also holds provincial and local leadership roles and has been recognized for his commitment to leadership and education within Orthopaedic Surgery.
